Our Favorite Place
Homer has a lot of our memories and all of our hearts.  It is one of the most beautiful and scenic locations in Alaska.  This is where Shelby becomes the Queen of Kings and Justin hunts sea ducks.

Denali National Park

Once in a Lifetime
You literally have to win the lottery to be able to drive all the way through Alaska's Denali National Park. 
We didn't win the road permit lottery, but we hit the friend lottery and were able to go with our friends to see this amazing park. 

Kennecott Mines

Worth the Drive
Kennecott is home to one of the nation's most profitable copper mines in history. Estimated profit for the time was 200 million (3.5 billion today). The mine's history starts near 1911 and ends in 1938 when the mine was abandoned overnight when the final train left. The 14 story concentration mill is still standing.

The mine and it's buildings are now part of the largest National Park: Wrangall-St. Elias.

Fun for the whole family
Shelby's Dad and Stepmom brought the 3 boys up for a visit to the Last Frontier.  

The family camped, took a train trip, visited glaciers, and did some geocaching!
